Kerry Katona Fires Publicist Max Clifford

Kerry Katona has fired her publicist Max Clifford - after he revealed concerns about her drinking.

The former Atomic Kitten singer hit the headlines earlier this month after appearing drunk and slurring her words on British daytime TV show This Morning.

Clifford - who represents the interests of many stars, including Simon Cowell - yesterday spoke of his fears for Kerry - and criticized her husband, Mark Croft.

He said, "All I can say is that from knowing Kerry as well as I do, I don't personally believe she is in a good place at the moment.

"What people who are around her tell me makes me increasingly worried. People around her are telling me that she is drinking more and more, earlier and earlier."

Clifford last night revealed that he will no longer act as the troubled star's agent.

He said in a statement, "She has asked that I no longer represent her.

"Reluctantly I have agreed and I wish her all the health and happiness. I think the world of her and wish her every success."
